Airline Tickets - OneWay

Hi Everyone,
This is my fist post (of many more, hopefully), but I've been following the website for a few months. There is a ton of useful information on the site so let me say “thanks.”

Assuming you have your EP in-principle approval (and I presume you do), return tickets of any sort are not required. Just get a return ticket, which will be cheaper than a one-way anyway, with a flexible return date for the next time you want to visit the US.

Agreed, return tickets are usually cheaper..... and come with a maximum of 1-yr validity so you'll get to go on holiday for free, if you look at it that way

We got a 1 way ticket and had no issues with immigration etc.

Yup the 1 year ticket is slightly more expensive, but well worth it, I always get it, because I can never make my mind up, if i'm coming or going, for a long or short period, I just do what i want to do and the flight date can be normally changed at no cost.

I have found it cheaper to purchase round trip tickets in Singapore than in the US for the same destinations. So, sooner or later you'll junk the unused leg of a ticket originating outside of Singapore.

If you can use your mileage to get a 1 way ticket
Some airlines will allow you to do this.

We have just arrived in Singapore on a one way ticket and had no problem with immigration, however the check in counter wanted to see our Letter of Approval from the MOM before they would let us check in. So really there should be no problem as long as you have all the paperwork sorted.

Agree. It is always the airlines that give more hassle as they have to return you if you don't get in.
Never even been asked at immigration.

When I visited Singapore from the States in Feb of '09, Immigration didn't request to see a return flight.
