Hello,

Are prescription medicines priced the same across all pharmacies (e.g. Guardian vs. General Hospital vs. Private Clinic)?

If not, what Hospitals / Pharmacies offer the best prices?

(p.s. the medicine is a common pain relieving med)

No, they aren't the same prices. But you would have to shop around. I don't think any pharmacy is universally cheaper than another here. Same with the Hospitals, although I tend to thing the government hospitals would be cheaper than the private hospitals. Polyclinics tend to be cheaper than private doctors. But yet again, not in all cases.

It's even cheaper if you cross the border to JB, and if you go all the way to Thailand meds are dirt cheap.

This is something that I hadn't thought about.

Unless you're requesting Class A narcotics, most pharmacies in Malaysia and especially Thailand don't give a fig about prescriptions. However, make sure it's not on this list if you plan on bringing it back!

Hi, i suggest you can go to johor. Prescription medicine are twice cheaper and some paharmacies dont require prescriptions aslong as bring along the medicine packaging. I have an allergy which requires me to maintain a good lotion. It is being sold here in singapore for 10-15 SGD with prescription but I was able to get it in johor for MYR 8. which is just about $4.

I think antibiotics can also be bought in johor without prescriptions.

Walk along inside City Sq or along the rows of shop houses leading to City Sq after you pass JB custom. You will see quite afew there. Bring a friend who can speak Malay will smoothen any hiccups
