Singapore Expats

Hello everyone, was wondering where I can get softeners (the American style ones like in a tissue box style, with sheets of softener you can pull out) here in Singapore. I just checked out the NTUC stores and could not find any. Also tried some other super markets and have no luck so far. Any ideas? Thank you for your time.

Since many locals don't use a dryer, you have to shop in more of an expat market for Bounce dryer sheets. Try Tanglin or the Market at the Paragon. Beware, they cost a bomb here.

rightly so... with a natural dryer A.K.A the BLOODY SUN! that we happily get in singapore, it just make sense not to be a resource over-consumer of electricity and oil (singapore electricity is oil based)

to the OP;

skip the dryer for a while, check if you really need it and maybe you will then wont need to worry about pumping more chemical waste into the oceans by using softeners...

is part of the expats package contract to stop having common sense and adaptability?

You asked a perfectly legitimate question. Not everyone on the board is as judgmental as the above poster. Hang in there and ask your questions, you may have to wade through some throw-away responses, but for the most part we're a helpful lot.

I use fabric softener in my wash. That seems to work just as well.

Puppies are like birds? Takes them weeks before they can fly? Do you just push him out of the doggie basket like some birdies are pushed out of the nest? Pictures, please!!

Thanks for the reply guys. I will check out some foreign supermarkets to check out the costs for this. As there is dryer readily available, I would like to save some time from hanging up my clothes and stuff. Thanks again.

We asked the Landlord to give us a dryer as the condo had a washing machine but no dryer. Its standard here to ask for white goods thats not in the condo when you view. Only thing that is difficult to fit in and expensive to run is a dishwasher. As most locals have a maid instead. It is the only thing I miss after a dinner party.

i recently found out that creases in cotton shirts are easier to iron out when hung dry. We only use the dryer for our towels. Plus, it's my only exercise for the week when i hang the clothes out. Keep my arms strong for the backhand when Mr swaggers in drunk!
