Singapore Expats

Hi there,

I moved to Singapore in June and am happy to have fallen pregnant here. I am now 17 weeks along and starting to think about what I need to buy. I just returned from a home trip to the UK where I did quite a lot of looking around at prams etc, but although I got lots of useful info on the different models and we have a feel for what we like, we're not sure what actually works best in Singapore. We dont have a car here, so we're dependent on taxis and buses for transport.

I would be very grateful for any advice on what's most practical and works best in Singapore and is travel (plane) friendly. For example we liked the Bugaboo Bee and Chameleon which are quite pricey, but we're still undecided and open to hearing feedback from mothers who already know the score on pros and cons from their own experience.

Do 'travel system' prams work well over here in terms of practicality and Singapore amenities? Also is the Maxi Cosi taxi-friendly/safe in Singapore??

There has be considerable verbal intercourse on this forum about the various prams, travel systems and their pros & cons with regard to buses & taxis and general usage & problems. Try the search function located just below the Profile link at the upper right side of this page. Might save you lots of time. That's why we put it there, so we don't have to keep regurgitating the same info over and over.

We have the Maxi Cosi Mico and we bought it here in America. It is SUPER easy to put into other cars with the click of a seatbelt. It also fits into the Quinny stroller or the Maxi Cosi stroller. Highly recommend this seat.
