Hi
I wondered if anyone else on this board has entered into the Singapore Urbanathlon on 31st Jan (check Mens Health website for details). I've never done anything like this before and was wondering how other people were training for it?
For those who've not heard of it, it is a 12.5km run with about 8 different obstacles along the way. Before I signed up the furthest I'd ever run was to the bus stop when I'm late for work so I'd be quite interested to hear how other people are getting on?

Hi, I saw the ads for this event and wouldn't mind giving it a go. Plan to start training after the excess of christmas. The humidity is going to be a killer! I'd say i'm abit like yourself fitness wise and any training I have done has been in the comfort of the a/c in the gym.

Yeah, the heat will be a killer. I've only been running in the evenings when it's cooled down and it's pretty tough going - early morning could be a bit of a nightmare. At the moment I can do about 8k before I feel like breaking down, so think I've still got a lot of work to do yet!

yeah me too.... there are 3 bootcamp training sessions in Jan, I will probably go to them in a last ditch effort to try and get race ready!

Bootcamp sounds interesting, but I've got a feeling it will be very hardcore! Think I'll just concentrate on being able to cover the race distance first!

Don't think it's gonna be that bad, anyway there are 3 sessions with 3 diff levels of intensity, so guess if u don't feel quite up to it, can always go for the easiest one.
