Singapore Expats

Can anyone who's moved to Singapore then had a baby there (recently) tell me of their experiences with OB/Gyns, hospitals and pediatritians. I am five months along and we are thinking of moving to Singapore from the America. What happened after you gave birth regarding your child's citizenship and documentation?

The level of medical care is quite good in Singapore. Most insurances here do not cover pregnancy and childbirth. A normal birth without complications is affordable, though.
As everywhere, there are good and bad OB/Gyns and pediatricians in Singapore. You'd have to look for one that you're comfortable with.
Singapore citizenship is not given just by birth here, so you'd have to contact your embassy to find out how to apply for yours. You'll get a Singapore birth certificate if the baby is born here.

Citizenship is a bit of a minefield, and very much dependent on your own background and home countries laws, best check with the local embassy for clarification and get that information confirmed in writing.

As to the local care etc, I found it to be very good the fact that Singapore has one of the lowest infant mortality rates in the world says it all.

They have to, seeing they have the third lowest Fertility Rate in the world.
