Possibly I am feeling cranky... then again... this is truly a bullsh*t post.

"Experience" with PEP? What is that?

How about, "How do you apply?" "What are the requirements?"

Then again, a search of this forum would have turned up a ton of replies... so I think I will fall back to my original judgement.

The chilly nights in Houston getting to you? I notice the days @ 69 F aren't all that warm for that part of the country either.

May be my question is not clear.

How are your experiences after you got PEP? Meaning . are you getting good response from employers for job requirements?
Will person on PEP be able to apply for SIngapore permanent residence?
Any drawbacks in having PEP.

drawbacks? It's only good for 5 years IF you can maintain the income requirements. If you don't meet the income requirements you lose the pass. If the employer will not try to obtain a regular EP then bye-bye. You can only get a PEP one time. If you lose it in 6 months, habis. No more. So, while it has it's good points, it also has some pretty hefty sour ones as well.

Personally I cannot see a PEP having any more downsides to just having an EP. All of the above (and more) apply to EP. Yeah, in comparison to PR it has a lot of downsides, but some people are not willing to make that commitment (PR is not just another type of work permit as some people use it).
Regarding your question on SPR - My suspicion is that the govt would prefer you to go the PEP route, rather than SPR. Theoretically it shouldn't hurt your chances - but then again, who knows...

Can a person who has PEP apply for SPR ? meaning is he eligible to apply? Somebody told me that if i have PEP , i cannot apply for SPR .. Does anybody have any idea on this?

You don't need "any idea". All you need to do is make sure you have a job. If the government feels you can up the gene pool here you should have no problem - Based on what I've seen so far, ahh, nevermind.............

One more question. the requirement for being on PEP is having a salary of atleast 7000 sing dollars... AM i right or is it when applying for the PEP?

If the guidelines say 7K salary, then that's what it is.

While questions are welcome, it would be prudent to make a search and then nitpick on the fundamentals. While not deriding you to seek information, I think SMS and long term regulars do find it quite challenging to answer the same question about a 1000 times and that number is not an exaggeration if you look at the past 4-5 years of queries regarding this subject. Please take my statement in its constructive form and not as an insult or derision. People are here to help but sometimes even helpers need a time out! No one ever asks complex, mind boggling, nerve wracking, brain splitting queries anymore! Damn this internet!

Now, you question about applying for PR on PEP has probative value. While there is nothing in guidelines that says you CANNOT apply, the best is to call ICA and do a quick check. Because if its a NO, then will make it clear on the conditions. I have not come across anyone being rejected (at least amongst the few I know on PEP).

Hey Guru, now you know why we sometimes just have to take the mickey don't you. In this instance, I really don't think the guy has the necessary dna to up the depleted gene pool here anyway. Matter of fact, if it's actually possible, I think giving him PR would further depress the gene pool.

So, if the guy has been on a PEP for 6 months and hasn't been working at all since he got his PEP, he can still apply for and get SPR. Do I understand you correctly?

One more question.
1. Can a person apply PEP from outside of singapore? meaning i am working in US and would like to apply from here. i dont have EP and i am not working in singapore. 4 yrs before i worked in singapore on EP.

Let me know if you have any idea.
