Singapore Expats

Well, its been crazy for the last couple months since the baby arrived so I'm going to give her a surprise for her birthday. Anyone knows of a chic hotel maybe a boutique hotel with nice surroundings that wont break the bank?

There're actually a lot of nice rooms out there. Like The Scarlett, The Ritz, Hotel 1929 has a rooftop bath too.

Personally I love the scarlet, have stayed there on several occasions. The Hotel 1929 I have been at and looks great aswell, especially the room mentioned, with teh outdoor bath tub

Scarlet by the way has an outside jacuzzi, and allthough it's officially shared, it seems no one uses it, so I have spend complete evenings in it with my fiancee. And it has a great view!

Silosa Beach resort also have a rooftop jaccuzi concept thingy. The room is quite small though but the rooftop is pretty cool. You have a nice view of the ships and oil tankers.

Just out of curiosity, have you already chosen a nice place for lunch on that day? Any recommendations?

I have an "important" date coming up and would like to go somewhere new instead of a place that we've been to before on countless occasions...

Aster - Jing at One Fullerton is great - can get a bit crowded, but when you book, ask for a booth - that's nice if it's just the two of you. HTH

Thanks, will definitely check it out. I definitely don't mind going for lunch at 3pm for instance to steer clear of crowds, as long as the place doesn't close down between lunch and dinner of course.

My other alternative is Hai Tien Lo, but we seem to go there every time someone new visits us in Singapore, so it wouldn't be something special, and not a romantic place for lunch either.
