Hi all,

There is a chance that I may relocate to Singapore...but I am still in discussion with my employer re relocation package, etc...

I'm originally from Hong Kong but I have lived in Canada and London in the past. So would be great to meet up with you all if I do indeed relocate.

But before I decide, can anyone advise me re rental in Singapore? I'd like to rent a studio apartment with a budget of SG$1,000 to SG1,500 per month - fully furnished. Is this possible?

PS: I do not wish to live in HDB flats, if possible.

Thanks!

Rental in SG

Hi,

SGD $1000 to $1500 might be a bit to low. Not quite sure if you have done your home work, but the rental in SG has hiked at least 20% in the past 6 months.

So, if you want a decent condo and don't want to share with anyone or HDB flat, other words an apartment to your own then you might be looking at least $2500.

Hope this helps !

Thanks Blue Angel!

Apologies Jo Jo, I just realized I've hijacked your thread...

The rent is pretty steep? HK$2500 is around HKD13750 but you can still find something at HK$7000-8000 (of course shoe boxes) in HK...no flatshare just a super-mini sized apartment...

How about flatshare with fellow expats/ HKers? Do you know anyone who's looking for flatmates? Ideally, if I do need to resort to flatshare, I don't want to stay with landlords....for the obvious reasons that they, like HK landlords, dont allow you to cook...

Thank you!
