am new to Singapore and not familiar with a lot of places, I I want to take my young lady to a nice quiet Chinese / Thai resteraunt and then a Movie.
Any suggestions. It will be a Sat night

Try Thanying Restaurant at Amara Hotel, quiet and tranquil, nice environment, head to the city after that

what about patara for thai food
(they have two outlets -- Raffles City and Tanglin Mall)
or for chinese, you could go to club chinois, its got a really nice ambience!
