Singapore Expats

Hi,

Does anyone know of a shop in Singapore with a professional disc polishing machine. I am aware you can buy home kits but just have one DVD disc I need polished.

Depending on how bad the scratches are, you may still be able to repair your disks yourself:

Most involve rubbing and using metal polish or toothpaste.

Or... get some liquid auto polish... non abrasive... fills in the sratches.

I watch with interest. I have personally visited DVD stores all around the Sengkang area and have been unable to find this service.

For DIY, the abrasion methods seem to require too much time and a modicum of skill. And together with the filler method are usually SGD$12 at their cheapest. Not really suitable for a single repair.

Prevention is the best medicine and I usually backup important DVD's.

got any links to any particular polish? my google-fu has not yet yielded results; this has quite piqued my interest. I have to admit though that I haven't given searching due diligence yet.

from how i understand polishing works, it all boils down to abrasion--at the smallest possible level. i remember finding somewhere in the internet about polishing the bottom of a soda can into a mirror finish using chocolate.
