Have you got EP card before you rent an apartment?

I just got the In-Principle Approval letter, and will land in Spore to look for an aparment. I guess it takes some time to get the EP Long Term Pass card. So can I still rent an apartment with my In-Principle Approval letter? Or have to wait for the EP card?

EP card will take 4-5 days. Just take the medical test, go to MoM after then and is 2/3 waiting days.

Without the card you can't do any "official" paperwork as rent an apartment.

Are you going to get EP card or long term visit pass? They are two different permits. If you got a job offer in SG and you haven't received your EP card, yes, you can still rent an apartment in SG without the EP card. The agent or landlord may ask you for the employment letter or perhaps the In-principle approval letter to prove that you are allowed to stay long term in SG.

To share my experience. Actually I rented a HDB flat without EP card but with my employment contract when I landed in SG. As soon as I got my EP card, I gave a photocopy to the agent who then passed it to landlord. I had no issue with that.

same for us...

most of the rental paperwork was done before our arrival actually, with the basis of the IPA and the work contract.

we gave a copy of the green card as soon as we got it.
