What divorce lawyer did you use? Would you recommend them?

I posted here before asking about general divorce advice... I think the time has come... My husband just hit me for the first time, before that it was just verbal abuse. Cannot wait any longer.

I would like to hear from people who actually went through a divorce and used a local Singapore lawyer. What lawyer or firm did you use, would you recommend them and why? Please also describe your situation if possible (like status in Singapore, employment, assets, children etc.). Please PM me if you don't want to post lawyer names. I want the best option for myself, because I know my husband will do his best to take the children from me.

Thank you!

Hi.. you can try Mirchandani & Partners.. they are on the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. A friend of mine used them. A little on the pricey side.. but way more affordable than the Big Boys.. Harry Elias , Wong Partnership. i think they hv a web-site which u can check them out..

I would never hit my wife. Its crossing the line. I had a huge argument with my her once, and she started hitting me - just right after she screamed at me that she did not like violence when she thought i was going to hit her. go figure.... although i did deserve it given i snapped her iphone in half.... :D

Note I didnt smash the phone on the floor - I literally snapped it in half with my bare hands. It felt so good doing it... but then so bad when i had to buy her a new one :(

I understand, I meant my husband :) The funny thing, he has smashed his phone, I was on the other end of the line  I guess he also felt quite good releasing the tension like that, but for sure he did not like the part of loosing the phone.

BTW, you must be quite strong, and if your wife was OK just with the new iphone, than it must be "Italian" style love ;)
