Can anyone recommend swimming lessons for babies, preferably Austswim instructors?

Just throw 'em in the deep end without any floats before they are 6 months old. They'll learn quick enough. That's what I did with mine, that's what my old man did with me, works pretty good!

If you do a google search on infant swimming lessons, I believe few will come up as I've looked into this before but personally didn't think it was worth it at this stage but I have a few friends of mine who have used Aquaducks (they're on the web) and there's another one beginning with 'M' but can't remember the name of it right now so will come back to you.

Two locations, Turf City and a house on Holland Road.

I've been going there for over 2 yrs now, happy with the place, I prefer the pool at Turf City because it's bigger

And, they recommend that you start when the baby is 6 months old, they have looooooooooooooong waitlists so be prepared

like I said, throw 'em in the pool around 6 months! But you really don't need a stranger to do it. It's better with Dad! Mom's tends to get excited too easily.

Marsden was the other one I was thinking of. I have friends who use both of these so it's all down to which one you prefer. I believe both offer free trials.

I got my boy in the pool at 5 months and he loves the water - splashes like mad and doesn't mind being dunked. I haven't bothered with classes but may do this when he's a bit older. I don't need to spend money to sing ' ring a roses' in a pool.

I started taking my son when he was six months and i was sceptical at the start - ring a ring a roses and all that. But, if you have a good teacher, there is rhyme and reason to how they take babies through water confidence and I'm really glad I did the baby swimming classes. Of course supplement wiht a lot fo your own splashing about time, but the classes really helped think about water confidence, safety etc. And he and i had a lot of fun.
