Ok.... here's a reason. I want to spend around $2500 TODAY on a new dive computer...

(pause for breath there)

Three biggest hits on 'Singapore Suunto buy dive computer' via Google, don't even show their phone numbers...

For someone who is a moderator, you certainly seem to enjoy starting a lot of wars

:)

p.s. No SMS, the stuff back in 82/83 was still highly experimental e-mail from university to university. First forum was Soc.Cult.Singapore.... a bit like you had to be there to experience it - a bunch of angry ex-pats, and then a bunch of paid PAP Youth shouting it all down and rebutting everything- little changes <sigh>. Didn't see the web until '94. when an IT mate showed me at work... then went off to bonk some chick he'd chatted up online in Hawaii

That's why they are all preceded by the telephone number.

Well, all the contact numbers were on the main pages of their sites. Two of the sites had office and mobile numbers (5 PHONE numbers for 3 sites) None of them were buried. I didn't have to look for any of them, just clicked your links. Copied and pasted them here. I thought, maybe you were on the p*ss this afternoon. Not like some of us haven't done that on occasion.

You were SHOUTING about something being wrong with "those" people when all was there in front of your nose. What to think when one clicks on the links the poster provides, and golly-gee phone numbers, fax numbers, email addresses, what would YOU think?

As far as your experience with forums is concerned, I was just referring to your own post regarding how much experience you have. :-| I realize it was an overstatement, in hindsight, but still 16+ years is a long time.

Chillax. As Blue_Thunder would put it.

Ok maybe you'd like to point out where the Planet Scuba phone number is. From their homepage I see...

----------------------
Planet Scuba
Tel:
[pregnant pause]

Fax:
[oh look, nothing!]

Tel
[email protected]
[yes, phone an e-mail address, great!]
--------------------------------------------------

p.s. Cheers, Cinder... might give your guy a bell. No wonder they need so many shopping centres here... they make it almost impossible to buy anything!

Do you recall Soc.culture.singapore ?

That was funny. A bunch of pissed expats, rambling on amongst themselves. Then a bunch of the Youth-PAP-Wing (self appointed guardians of the national pride - as it was the only disussion forum of any kind in SG at the time)who pretended they were not in fact Singaporean and went in for the jugular and 'corrected you' if you said anything critical.

Plus ca change etc :D

you're taking the mickey out of SMS, right?

I can see the phone number 3 times on the page SMS pasted, and at least 2x on the main home page.

There was also a fax number on same page SMS posted.
