I would like to warn anybody who orders a flight ticket at Zuji.

The reason for this is that they have a non-transparent way when to allow refunds. When you buy the ticket they do not clearly state whether the ticket is refundable or not, it all depends on what rate they have internally negotiated with the airline at the time however this information is never shown publicly. So in some cases if you must cancel your flight you may get a nasty surprise.

I think it is really bad style that they are not more transparent on their site stating clearly before you select an airline whether the ticket is refundable or not.

But I guess transparency and customer protection are not exactly SG's strong side.

Hence if i get a flight option from their search function i note the detail then call their customer service. They'll confirm the fare class with you and lead you by the hand through the booking process over the phone.

BUT...... you are right, if they were clear on the website you wouldn't need this additional step.

Kind of also defeats the purpose of having a website if you anyway need to call them up :?

Anyway caveat emptor FTW

They are basically "just a travel agent" and they do a hell of a lot better job of it here in Singapore than many others.

Not an excuse, but in the end they are reasonable for what you get..... just get on the phone if you have any questions. From memory they've always generally been quite friendly and helpful since the guys know that even the FAQ section doesn't answer the single most FAQ even after probably 10-yrs in business.

I only use the website to get pricing and schedules and if i'm interested i get on the phone with them and we go through it all together.

I recently had a gripe with them.

If you are in an overseas hotel normally you can ask concierge to deal with the business class flight changes. Zuji will not allow this I have to call Zuji Singapore (at overseas hotel rates) sit on the phone for ages and then be hit with the Zuji processing fee. If I booked it direct with SQ no fees and no hassle with the hotel changing the flights.

That is often true of any travel agent.

If you booked a ticket through an agent the airline will 99% of the time ask you to make changes via the agent. The fact that Zuji takes time to answer the phone, and charge for the service is the only variable from one agent to another and what distinguishes the good from the bad.

The best agent i had in my life works in Hong Kong and for 10-yrs I have been striving to find his local equivalent. Sadly........

I had some dealings with Carlson Wagonlit before, thought they always were very good - could just send an email from some godforsaken place in China and they would quickly change the flights/hotel reservation according to my wishes - but Ok that was when flying for my old company
