Singapore Expats

I noticed that Singaporean citizens don't need Visa to go to France/UK but how about Singapore PRs?

You will need what ever visa is called for by your passport. France could care less where you have PR. It's your passport that counts.

The process has started already some time ago. I recall a question if a maid needs visa for travelling together with an expact family. Maybe something to do with the well known fact that maids are not actually human so it should be sufficient just to declare them at the customs.

yes, as long as expats come from the rich breeding ground of the intellectually self-important (like the American 'Professional' dimwit) then we are all safe

Working this board for the last umpteen years has really been an eye-opener for me, I have to say. I used to think I was disadvantaged because I did not have a Degree other than of Life Experience. Seeing the Intelligent (NOT) questions that are being contributed more and more by Masters Degree holders, let alone the basic Bachelors Degree, I no longer feel inferior! I have to, at least, thank them for that!

this is what happen when the government issue PR like nobody business.
Any Tom and Jerry can get it.

No wonder Singapore's productivity has not improved vastly in the last ten years!

The colour of your passport is VERY important like the traffic light colour

Red means No Go

Blue means GO

Orange means Sometime you Go , sometime you NO GO

But some country is opposite which can be A Go Go !!

So........You want to Go or No Go ???????

actually it depends for other countries. I know switzerland allows PRs of Canada to visit without a visa. EU countries though do not do this.

Switzerland allows canadian to visit without a visa. Most of Europe countries too. They, as any other country in the world, care about your passport. Your PR means nothing outside of the country

So a Peruvian that is Canada's PR, will need a visa for sure to enter Switzerland (i put this random example just because I see that peruvian need a visa in Switzerland)

Yup that is correct. My dad entered switzerland in 2008 with a chinese passport and a canadian pr card, without swiss visa. The airport almost refused him to board the plane until they called the immigration for confirmation. The policy was changed on dec 12th 2008 and now visa is required.

yes I've read the post. It does sound like an inane question but Im just stating that some countries (switzerland surprise surprise) did allow a Canadian PR (regardless of nationality) to enter, as long as he can show proof of finance and return ticket.

That may have been an irregularity . . . it is the passport that determines the visa requirement, or lack of it.


(Though, come to think of it . . . I'll do some research on this)
