Hi there,

I am actually a guardian and we have Thai students. Honestly, if they do not speak English, they have alot of catching up to do. I always encourage parents to start sending them for English classes even before the school starts. I have young boarders who come here at the age of 6 so that they may attend english classes.

Howeer, 10/11 years old they might have to join the younger group instead of students at their age in School. This will depend on their test that they are taking with MOE.

As for the school, it will depend on where they are staying. They will probably have to go to a local school and start all over. Nonetheless, kids also learn very fast, just that as parents and care givers, we have to be extremely patient.

hi,

mainstream schools start on the 28th of June 2010.

Yup, you should consider enrolling them in some English classes like the British Council.

Good luck with your move.

I could be wrong, but I think Overseas Family School (OFS) accepts pupils that don't speak English.
