Singapore Expats

Hi all

Im new here.. been in singapore 4 and half year alrd,
most of my friends r Asian so i'm looking to get involved in a more international social circle with nice people like you:) we could hang out, perhaps help each other learn new languages/exchange culture and all that. n i'm willing to show new comers to Singapore around as well.

I suppose what I'm about to say is kind of embarrassing. I am Singaporean by citizenship, but I'd been abroad studying for some time and just came back. If it weren't for the passport I'm holding, I'd probably consider myself an expat. I can honestly tell you that most people in this forum probably know Singapore a lot better than myself. The things about Singapore I thought I knew have pretty much been changed, torn down or well, disappeared altogether. Which is kind of sad, but I suppose it's exciting as well - it's like discovering an entirely new country in an old one.

And I'd love to meet up with people to chat over a cuppa or something. Most of my friends from long ago have mostly decided to migrate or study abroad (by some strange coincidence), so I'm pretty much starting from scratch.

Hi Milrando! I studied in Australia and apparently picked up quite a bit of their speech pattern and slang. Cultural exchange has always been fascinating to me. I had a number of European friends (mostly German-speaking) when I was studying. Where are you from?
