Singapore Expats

Hi there,

I have been to Singapore a few times and even worked for a while there. The residential property seems to be very stable (of course, it has its ups and downs), but I think the way the market is structured, there is always an uptrend in prices.

I am trying to make an investment in a residential property (condos). Since I am an international investor, I wasted to know what's the best way to go about doing this.

Your help and suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I follow the property index from newly introduced NUS Singapore Residential Price Index (SRPI). It is very useful since it tracks transactions month to month so it does not lag a lot:

As you can see that up-trend starting from March 2009 is slowing down. Singapore goverment applied cooling measures in August 2010 and October 2010 and as you can see it looks very effective.

For individual transactions I suggest you to use URA's e-services. They provide transaction prices per private property so that you can have a benchmark while hunting for property.

U just need money and loads of money. That's all. You will have legals, agents and all the help you need. Banks will ask you for documents but you have bankers to assist you.
