Rant about England

Jesus Christ, what has happened to the England team????
Capello is losing it, Rooney is insulting the fans (they have paid thousands of pounds and travelled thousands of miles to support the team so they are entitled to a few boos after watching the garbage served up on friday night, disloyal that does not make them), and Shawn Wright Phillips shouldn't be anywhere near a sunday league team's squad let alone England's!!
And why oh why oh why doesn't he just play Joe Cole? We have zero creativity and are just lumping long balls up to Heskey the whole time and hoping someone can get on the end of a flick on, hardly total football is it
And don't even get me started on that carthorse Carragher (at least he's suspended for the next game) and Frank Lampadrd's perfect impersonation of the invisible man!
You wait 4 years and they serve up this tripe, bunch of overpaid prima donnas, if they had half the heart of the New Zealanders or North Koreans we'd be in the second round already

It was obvious right from the start, tactics all wrong. The problem with our midfielders, SWP, Lennon and barry is that they have been constantly trying to take the ball inside rather than get to the line and put the ball in. meaning the opposition can pack the box and stifle any attack.
also with rooney playing behind heskey, it's all too easy for the opposition to keep 2 men on him whenever he gets the ball. much better to play him up front, to draw off defenders an a run, leaving space open for the other striker (preferably not heskey!). I would personally put rooney up front with gerrard behind and drop heskey altogether.
why bent isn't there, capello alone knows.
Having said all that no-one has really covered themsleves in glory yet (spain, germany, france, italy are all stuttering too), so i still am hoping it will all come out good in the end....

gerrard and joe cole remain key to qualification to the second round..they are england's most creative players

i honestly don't see joe cole offering a huge amount more than SWP, although i agree that i would like to see him higher in the pecking order than wright-phillips.

Agreed, although I'd add Rooney to that too (he's been hopeless so far but he's not had the service, with Gerrard and Cole playing with some freedom I think he'll benefit)
Unfortunately I fully expect to see the midget Gary Coleman running down the wing again (into a blind alley of course) instead

you kidding right....swp ahead of cole come on....cole has had quite a good season at chelsea and he one of the most gifted of the current england squad on his day.....i agree though fat frank lampard should be dropped and then gerrard in a more advanced role with cole supporting him and rooney up front would prove deadly for slovenia....

Not sure I'd say Joe Cole had quite a good season, Chelsea did yes but him personally? He didn't get a game for most of the time as it's seems Ancellotti doesn't fancy him hence why Chelsea have let him go on a free.
But I do agree that he's one of England's most gifted players and so far nothing has worked so where's the risk in giving him a try.
Personally I'd would like to see Defoe play up alongside Rooney and have Gerrard in the centre with Barry, and stick Lampard on the bench. I wouldn't complain if Gerrard was pushed forward behind Rooney though, as long as he's played central and not out on the wing or central but with too many defensive duties (Barry should cover that part)

I am absolutely gutted, when I was back in UK last week I paid good money for an England Shirt.
Looks like I will only get to wear it 3 times !!! That is not good value for money at all,

Oh yeah, it was defo a diff England side. I agree with Carlsum, joe cole is much better then SWP. I think rooney should play with gerrard just behind him and put joe cole on the left!!!!
