And his stupid attorney, scumbag that they usually are, is gonna get him creamed for sure. Saying the penalty is too high. Michael Fay got 6 commuted to four and he didn't even break into a secure protected compound and write on MRT carriages. I hope he does appeal it. They gonna up it to 6 strokes and a year in Jail. Michael was a 16 year old kid when he did it. This guy is educated, and 32 and apparently very well paid if he was living at the Sail. He should have known better, and the drunk bit was probably the only cop out excuse he had. I'll bet he wasn't anywhere near drunk. The graffiti was too good for being that incapacitated.

Fay damaged much more I guess.
Poor (or lucky) SMRT guys likely never seen any graffiti before so it took them few days to realize what happened

Did you have a look at the canning video in the link? I couldn't carry on watching beyond the 4th stroke.
That kind of a video would deter anyone with a slightly weak heart to even consider doing anything that even borders on un-ethical, leave alone illegal.

You have to wonder why... how.... why, on earth an apparently intelligent adult would do this. At the age of 32 have a few beers, and decide to break into a train yard and vandalise carriages. Aged 15 ok I'll listen, but 32... Good god what a moron!
As expected the BBC plays up the sentence as a very harsh thing. But that is to be expected from such a rabidly left-wing outlet. after all John Terry's father was just acquitted for dealing coke.... not that he didn't do it, but that the judge decided that he had been 'led on' by undercover journalists... so that er, made it ok and not a crime ... er I think....

Some UK MPs pay good money to have the same done to them in a dungeon. Do they carry out the caning before or after the jail term? Best to have it after for two reasons:
1. The 5 months will fly past when you know you have that at the end of it.
2. You can spend every day in Jail sliding on your butt to thicken the skin?
