Are prescriptions free for diabetics??

I am a diabetic, and as such all my medication (diabetes related and otherwise) is free in the UK.
Is there a similar situation in Singapore? If not, can anyone tell me roughly the costs for doctors visits and general prescriptions?

No. No National Health here. Make sure you have good insurance coverage. While health care is inexpensive or as expensive as you want to make it, it's still wise to have good insurance just in case.

It is unlikely on the existing policies that your diabeties will be covered (without paying a massive amount). Most insurance policies here exclude pre-exisitng conditions (probably worth a trip home every now and again to pick up the meds).

Check Bupa Int'l. There is a banner ad on here somewhere (I think it's a rotating banners though) Otherwise google it. They are a British International Insurance I believe. (I'm actually not familiar with it at all, 'cept is was brought up late last year or early this year for pregnancy cover), so they "might" cover pre-existing conditions.
