Gold coast is the Sunshine State of OZ. There are alot of things to do there.
If you are golfer , there many country clubs there
Try googling . I will be surprised if you get bored there. If you are male >>>>>FREEDOM !!!!!! if you are FEMALE >>>>>Good place to start.

Aussies loooove their sport, so if you want to fit in you will need to cultivate an interest in Rugby League and Australian Rules (collectively known as Footie), if you're slightly above middle class then you'll need to know Rugby Union and if your skin tone heralds from Southern Europe then football (known as soccer) is your bag.
The other things Queenslanders loooove are:
- backyard barbeques (known as baaaarbies). You will need to study the behaviour patterns and follow suit. Only drink Queensland beer from a bottle, crowd around the baaaarbie holding your beer and offering advice to the chef and discussing sport, whilst the chicks are in the kitchen doing the salads and drinking wine
- the beach / surfing. An excellent sport for fitness and once mastered quite a buzz. Go and join the local surf club and see if you can understand a single word of what they say / mumble
- gambling. Poker machines are in every pub and club (known as pokies) and your typical sad group of folks are attracted. Then there's the horses, the trots (where they ties the horses' legs together and pull a 1 person carriage), there's the greyhounds (knows as the dogs), scratch cards galore, weekly lotteries, casinos (but I think you need to go just over the border into NSW to find one of those) and all sorts of games played in the clubs such as Kino
- clubs. Football clubs, surf clubs, RSL clubs, bowling clubs and so on. Some of these places are huge - you could spend your whole weekend in them (there's even one in Sydney with its own motel)
And that's about it. Enjoy !
