Hi - does anyone have recommendations for laser eye surgery in Singapore? And what does it cost here? Or would I be better off getting it done in the US or Europe?

Has anyone heard anything good or bad about Dr. John Goh for lasix eye surgery?

i would recommend lasik with Shinagawa...they are real good. i just did the surgery this month and is recovering right now. they are very professional..thumbs up for them..not as scary as what i thought [/url]

Is it true that if you have Lasik, you weaken your eyeball(s) so that when you go to an environment with a difference in pressure (up a mountain, or SCUBA diving), you risk your eyeball rupturing? Just wondering, as your eyeball does have a certain internal liquid pressure...

I would not recommend having it done here. This opinion is based on the experience of two different coworkers who have had complications. One can only see a blur from his right eye four months after the procedure.
I know that there is always a risk involved but two out of two (the two people I know who have had the procedure done in Singapore) is a batting average of 0.

I will definitely go for this if i ever get my dream job!

i have a cousin who went for it..she does not use glasses anymore and seems quite satisfied...

i can't remember it was goverment or private hospital tho'

all i heard is that you have to be careful after the op and follow the intructions carefully for the next 6 mths to avoid complications...

The cheap way to get eye corrective surgery is to join the SAF as a commando, pilot or diver. They will do your surgery for free. They offer PRK instead of lasik, recovering time is longer but its cheaper, obviously, and doesn't require cutting your cornea into a flap.

Your ans is strange but true and very humorous....esp about the part where we SG are 75% myopia and therefore our eye surgeons shud be getting alot of practice...

My aunts have done lasik before 3-4 years ago and they are very satisfied with the results. But do beware that if you do this procedure while you're still young (ie, 20's early 30's) your eyes still may degrade over time. And with any surgical procedure please make sure all checks are in order.

With that out of the way, my friend says that Camden Medical Center in Orchard has some pretty reputable doctors who perform Lasik surgery. I don't know the clinics by name, but if anything you could probably google it and get a name within a few minutes.

I had my lasik done 8-9 yrs ago in Singapore. It was done by Dr Jerry Tan. I think it is the best thing I have ever done! I don't need to wear glasses or contact lenses anymore!!!

I was very seriously short-sighted and I think it costs me approx $6k back then. Make sure you do the procedure with a doctor that you are comfortable with.

definitely interested in lasik at some point but would like to hear more success stories to summon up my courage!

my hubby is voting against it - but with the medical advancement in Singapore I don't think there anything to worry about or is there?

can recommand lasik clinic in london if you want.

I did mine last year June.
Only about 5 minutes operation and all costs add up about SGD 2.8K + SGD 150 for the eye drop 10 boxes.
You can choose to pay with installment with 0 % interest.
I did mine at Paragon Orchard.

Operation takes about 7 minutes.
After operation, you have to wear a eye protector.
Sleep with the eye protector for the next 3 days.
Every hour you have to use eye drop, for about 2 weeks.
You have to use eye drop for first 3 months.

But it worth the troubles and efforts.

Recently there is a cheaper one, is located at wheel lock place at orchard road.
