Singapore Expats

What is the best way to get to and from Malaysia? I'm a US expat in Singapore so no need to get a Visa. I just have no clue on the best way to get there and back.
Any help or ideals, anyone?

You can rent a car and drive up thru the causeway OR go by air to KL or Penang or Langkawi.
It all depends what you want to do and for how long you intend to stay there

OP, good question. I have a similar one: What is the best way to get to and from US? I would be an SG expat living in Canada so no need to get a Visa. I just have no clue on the best way to get there and back.

What are you talking about? I actually did it few years ago. No snipers, no inquisitive Malaysian customs It is really a nice walk.

I'm new to the region so any ideals on things to do would be helpful. I'm playing tourist the first round them, the next time more for the night life and have a little fun.

you can't walk across anymore, not since the new malaysian immigration building (which I fondly call "metroplex") was built farther down, away from singaporean immigration (which I affectionately call "fortress maximus").

So, do I need to worry about customs? I work with a few people from there and they seem to think I will not have any problems.

I would suggest go with a tour group in Singapore for a two or three days package. There are many tour agencies providing these . You can go for slightly longer tour package. There are those that go by tour coach or by flight. It is very hard to know what you want specifically.
As you will be in Singapore for a wee while on the second trip you can do it on your own.
For night life, JB KL , Penang has vibrant night life
For walking along the causeway, best time is in after 10 am and before 4 pm as the walk will be more enjoyable. Weekends all bets are off as the crowds on both ends gets extremely large.

u wont have much trouble just dont try to walk across. passing customs is easy if you do a land crossing but you may get questioned if you dont have an employment pass and this depends on your nationality.

Depends on which parts of M'sia you inend to see.

If you're aiming for the capital - you may want to take a coach/tour bus. It's 5 hours but the right service will take you into the heart of the city. Which is not bad, since the trip from the airport to the city is abot 1-1.5 hours by taxi - unless you plan to fly in to Subang (suburb) on Fireflyz.

If you want to drive, best to get a group. Roads are not easily navigable and drivers there are insane
