Dog walking or day care - where to go?

Hi everyone,
we've just moved over from London with our Golden Retriever, and promptly took him to K9 Kulture for day care as it seemed to be getting good reviews + we checked it out and liked the site and the people.
However, our puppy (1yr old) didn't really enjoy it - he was constantly pining for us, didn't drink all day, always came back very tired and caught a cold + tummy problems (which the vet said was quite common at k9kulture)...
In London he used to go out with 4-5 dogs every day and play with the neighbourhood dogs in our park as well, and he's really missing canine company, but I haven't found anybody to look after him in a small group like this (K9 Kulture had more than 70 dogs present every day).
Does anybody have any advice on how to find someone to take him for walks / play during the day, hopefully with other furry friends? It's just hard when you don't know anybody to entrust your best friend to...
We live near Holland and Dempsey if that's of any relevance..
Any advice welcome!

Woofy Nanny. Lots of my friends use her.
She is quite good, although normally i think she takes smaller dogs.

Thanks guys, will check them out. Have just started with somebody else I found on the internet, hopefully that will work out.
Otherwise, I've started to realise how difficult it is to get around with a dog - most cab drivers don't want to take ours (he is kind of big and hairy), and even when we book in advance and specify we have a dog, many of them just show up then drive away. At the very least, a lot of negotiation is always required to get the driver to accept him.
Any tips on how to deal with that? Are there any companies that provide pet transport without charging a ridiculous amount?

We ended up getting a car for that reason. And when I was heavily pregnant it was even worse, cabs simply would not stop, no feeling sorry for the sweaty lady here.
Pet Transport usually ran about 60 dollars which is pricey. I actually was recommended one at the Kennel where our dog stayed in Seletar. The Finder also has some dog services listed or Anglo Info.

Hi there,
I own a Beagle myself and this is what I usually do when I call the Comfort Cab Service. I will specify that I have a
middle-sized dog on leash. This has enabled me to meet many helpful, dog-loving cab drivers who didn't even mind my dog's shedding. One was so kind, he kept assuring me that he will clean up the cab after we alight it before picking up other passengers.
For your case. I guess you'll have to say specifically, a Large Dog on Leash. That should do the trick! Might take a while for the wait time to get a confirmation though as there are limited willing drivers.

Good luck to you. We are 5 months in, have a 6 yo BC and am quickly coming to the realisation that we WILL be needing a car. hard to understand the attitude of the non-dog-lover, but there it is. I hope you find the right solution. sigh!

Yeah that's what I've been thinking, but every time I look up the price of a car I have a minor heart attack and change my mind again.
Regarding cabs, I have just accepted the fact that I need to pay for a pet taxi (costs something like $40-60 per round trip depending on when/where/etc). Occasionally I do book a cab and have actually managed to get some when specifying "big dog on leash" but it's absolutely not easy. I've also bluffed a bit by saying "medium dog on leash" but then some drivers wouldn't take us when they saw just how medium he was (one expected the dog to "be in a box").
By the way, I'm looking for a dog nanny again (daily pick-up from my home and lots of exercise are absolute requirements)... Anybody have any (updated) recommendations?

I'm thinking of relocating to Singapore next month with my dog (Maltese)
Are there dog friendly parks around? Because if I am not mistaken you can't walk your dog in public without a leash?

There is this lady with a team of people who takes dogs out to Dog run at Bishan Park during the week days. She's called Dog Nannies or Dog walker. She fetches the dogs from owners' home to the park to play and then fetches them back. Very interesting to see her walk a pack of dogs to the run....
