Singapore Expats

Hello all,

Looks like we might be having the company Christmas dinner at my place this year! Can anyone reccomend a good catering company that does Christmas Turkey with all the trimmings?

It seems to early to be thinking about it and alot of places haven't started advertising Christmas yet, but I want to get a jump on it!

I have tried Elsie Kitchen many times and their food is fabulous and services are always good. They are also generous with food portion.

Fully recommended.

Christmas pudding isn't so bad for you, as long as you don't have too much hard sauce... *drool*

I can't wait for Christmas dinner! Assuming I can get a turkey. Do the stores around here sell them at Christmas time?

Now days, NTUC carries turkeys as well but they are small (around 5-6kg) Carrefore, Cold Storage & Jasons carry usually up to around 8~9kg.

If you are gonna do Thanksgiving as well, then you are pretty much limited to Cold Storage or The Market Place (Jasons) as I haven't seen the normal NTUC carrying them in November. On the other hand I have tried the up market NTUC on upper Bukit Timah yet so I might see if they will carry them. When NTUC had the old "Liberty Market" at Dhoby Ghaut, the carried them in November as well.

Wicked. I've been craving turkey dinner since I got pregnant (I'm 5 mos now). I guess I'm SOL for Canadian Thanksgiving tho, eh?

I"ve had a turkey for Thanksgiving in November and one for Xmas as well every year since I've been here (this years pair will be number 28 in the ongoing series). Unlike a lot of people I could eat a turkey every month. I lurves turkey!

Yeah, you're gonna be hard pressed to find one for your Turkey day, however, you might give Carrefore a shot (I don't know - do the Quebecois also celebrate? Long shot - French Quebec & Carrefore? just a thought.)

Thank god its only once a year! and I have an 18 year old Johny Walker unopened. I read on the net, that if I put a glass of it in the freezer for 24hrs, it's like pure honey, thick and smooth, a must try on the pudding, Normally its Brandy but what the hell, I'm sure it lights up! Marinated Turkey sounds good too! Only joking lah!

Lucky buggers getting a roast turkey, my condo does not have an oven!! any place you can get pre cooked turkeys??

My mom's brandy fruit cake is a must....god I wish it was Christmas now

Just located a whole turkey at Huber's at Dempsey. $46 for a 4kg bird :-S
Meat the Butcher also has 7kg birds for $84.
