Singapore Expats

My son is off in 2 weeks for a 10 week Raleigh expedition in Borneo. The organisation recommend 50% DEET but my husband could only find 25% on a shopping trip while in USA. Here the docs only stock 15%.

I understand that the percentage only affects duration of effeectiveness, so he could use the 25% just applying it more frequently. However as it's such a long trip, a higher percentage would mean less space in his back pack.

Any ideas folks? We tried the army stores at Beach Rd, but were only offered very small dark grren tubes ominously marked 'for Army personnel only' and any info in such small typeface that it was illegible.

That stuff is pretty good. But it's rather messy and occasionally sticky but seems to work. I used to live out in Seletar Airbase/Seletar Camp and it was rather necessary if you spend a lot of time working in the garden. But yeah, not very flashy packaging, but then again, military surplus rarely is.
