Hello!
I'll move to Singapore in some months, and I´m looking for information in Internet, forums, etc.
I'm worried because I have read that in some flats there are not allowed to have cats, but are dogs!
Could someone tell me if that's true? is it difficult to find some appartmen in wich cats are welcome? (it´s for two cats)
Thanks in advance,
MarÃa

If you have cats you are forbidden from living in probably 90% of the dwellings in Singapore. (HDB - Housing Development Board - Government subsidized units) forbid the keeping of cats and they form about 85% of the dwelling units on the island.

but why??? why they don't like cats??? I can't understand. I have heard that with gods there is not that problem. Only cats, Why????
And, the rest of the houses (the other 15%), are worse than the HDB??? or are more expensive?
Nobody has cats in Singapore?? I can`t believe it!!!

The rest are more expensive, either
condo, or landed
property. They think cats are wild animals an are really not domesticated animals. That is, unfortunately, true. Cats need to prowl unfettered and that tends to lead to caterwauling and lots of baby cats all over the place. I think it sucks as well, but unfortunately, you are not home. You will be in Singapore and things ain't the same as they were back home.
Nobody said nobody had cats in Singapore........ What I said is that is the ruling at HDB. Nobody spits on the sidewalk, nobody speeds, nobody litters here either. It's a fine city. And there are fine for keeping cats where they don't belong as well if one is caught. One really does need to be friends with one's neighbours though.
