19 and going Bald need advice

hi everyone i am currently 19 and my forehead has become very high/bald, it has come to the point where i cant cover it with long hair from the top and growing hair from the side just make it look worse which makes me wear a hat or a beanie to go out. i do have a family with balding hair pass down from my grandparents to my father to me. Although i knew i would become bald i did not expect it to hit me so soon at around 19 where my hair drop very rapidly and i am still schooling and have not gone for my national service.
i have thought about wearing a wig but have no idea where to get one or how to use it and would like to learn more about young people who wear wigs. I have also heard about the cyberhair by aderans and it looks most promising to me after i am done with my national service. I would love to know more about their procedures with cyberhair as their website does not have much information and feedback from people who went there for it.
As i am young i still enjoying having fun but my bald hair has somewhat affected my self confidence just a little bit. I need advice on what i should do for the period before entering national service.

Assuming you're a man, just shave your head. Guys look much better that way rather than trying to hide it with one of those hideous comb-overs. And don't even think about wearing a wig - you'd be the laughing stock of just about anywhere if anyone found out.
Learn to live with it is the best thing to do I think. Bald guys are supposed to have more testosterone anyway

Hi there.
There are many a man who sport a bald head. Just think - Bruce Willis and Sean Connery!
If however, you are keen to do something about it, there are of course medications which your doctor can advise you about. The most popular one locally being Propecia. Some people also save cost by cutting the 5mg Proscar tablet (used in the treatment of benign prostate hypertrophy) into 4 parts. Same active ingredient used in both.

Balding at 19 is just wrong.
I've seen people look 15 years older than they should because of this. Anyone who says just enjoy it, or shave your head, really doesn't help. Sorry above posters, it's true
As I'm sure you know from googling, you really have 2 choices:
1- use hair treatments, either minioxidil, or herbal from clinics, at home, for life.
2- hair transplant.
I suggest hair transplant because:
1. It's (much) cheaper in the long run.
2 You don't have to do any maintenance. Once it's done, it's done!
You can also go to clinics like Beijing 101, or Jean Yip, to do their weekly hair treatments, but the results are similar or only slightly better than using hair tonics at home, and much more expensive. They also try to get you to buy use at home tonics anyway.

True, but there's not a lot you can do about it. I've never met anyone for whom hair treatments worked, I figured they were just a waste of money (like slimming spas!).
My dad started to go bald around 20 years old and he used to comb it over in the early days (looked terrible BTW!). Then a friend of mine was the same, going bald at 18, so he shaved it off, got a bit of a tan on his head and looked fine - much better than a comb-over and he never had trouble getting girlfriends either - I don't think it puts women off at all.
There are plenty of guys who shave their heads when they're not going bald so who's to know whether you did it for the heat or for the lack of hair!

try applying ginger juice to your hair daily...

stop with the comb over - it looks plain stupid. Get a shirt etc that reads
"Bald is Beautiful - God made only so many perfect heads - the rest he covered with hair"

And I can vouch for that! I also started going bald by the age of 19. by 29 I had the proverbial friar tuck ring. It never seemed to hamper me, I've been married three times (and was bald for two and 50% for the 1st one) so being bald, as long as you own it, can work for you. Carteki says exactly what I've been saying for almost half a century. For the past two years I've been shaving it and my kids think it's great. Hi you might like to try Kerastase Aminexil GL M® it is a home treatment my friend lost over 80% of here hair and it all grew back thanks to this.
but I think your problem is maybe hereditary sorry, I think you should go to a salon and get it cut quite short not shaven and try getting some soft lighter highlights can help.

seriously. just keep it shaved or clipped at a tight buzz. My husb was starting to recede when he was 16. it's not that unusual.
As a woman I can tell you with certainty, a high hairline makes you look wise; a bald head makes you look hardcore, and a super-short buzz is a nice compromise between the two.
The only reason you think it looks bad is because the beauty industry (and/or other outdated non-medical superstitions) want you to. Treat it with minoxidil if you like--for some people it can stop further loss, somewhat. but don't do any form of combover, and don't even consider a wig, or hair implant.

Hi.. faced teh same situation like you when I was 18-19.
I started turning bald and I developed inferiority complex...for some years i tried something or the other but nothing helped me...
Being an Indian...I believe in ancient form of Indian medicine...Ayurvadic Medicine and have used couple of powders and an oil which had stopped my hairfall completely within a month.....those medicines cost hardly SGD 40-50 per year...but then again I stopped using them after a couple of months and hairfall started again..
The powders are
1. Amla ki Churnam (Amla=Indian gooseberry, Churnam =powder)
2. Bringaraj Churnam / Triphala Churnam
Use Bringaraja Oil...I dont think you will find these in Singapore..but you can if somebody is travelling to India..
As they say- what matters is how you use a medicine than what you use...you must use these regularly cos according to ayurvadic doctors, it will stop hairfall forever if you use them continuously for 1 yr. ..and chances are the hair may grow again....not sure abt the hair growing again....but the hairfall will stop.
If nothing works....as some folks suggested, try to own it and be happy with what you are/have instead of losing sleep over it..Bald is Beautiful !!

You may consider to go for the FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation). This will solve your bald problem.

Hi there... My friend is 26 this year and he also suffers from balding quite badly,tried going for treatments @ Yun Nam & Beijing 101 etc but did not see much results... but recently i saw his photo on facebook and his balding problems have improved drastically after taking sheep placenta... really amazing... i was shocked when i met him in person...
As i am young i still enjoying having fun but my bald hair has somewhat affected my self confidence just a little bit. I need advice on what i should do for the period before entering national service.
