If I've said it once on here, I've said it a thousand times, we love helping people to try to at least help themselves. If they are able to find this site, then they are capable of doing some research before just asking the same questions over and over. We have to do the exact same thing that they do, use the search function to direct them to the links. Only difference is, unlike you and I, they are probably not at work at the same time. So, as I said before, utilize the search function, if you have a specific question that hasn't been touched on, we will then be glad to try our best to find a solution/answer.

Check out the
Cost of Living in Singaporewebsite, which has a good summary page with lots of links to relevant details. The other posters are right though - you need to do your own homework. Visit lots of different sites till you get a fairly good sense of the numbers.

There is no hyperinflation in SG so the daily expenses have not substantially changed within a year or so and the cost of rental was discussed a No of times in 2010. Well, at least you did some homework and seem not to be arrogant as some of the other posters but you should understand, people ask this question at least once a week without checking anything.
From your list, 1600 for rent is rather optimistic unless they don't mind sharing an HDB flat.
