Hi,
Have somebody dived in Pulau Hantu ?
What was the visibility ? Is it worth trying ?

Yeah it is... Visibility can be crap and the current strong, but there are a couple of Frog fish around as well as sea-horses, octupi and we even saw a turtle there last year.... never know what you will find Best part is that it is just 1/2 a day and you have the rest of the weekend too!

Most of the time when the operator takes you to P. Hantu it would be on the day that the current isn't strong. Diving around P. Hantu normally starts end of Oct till late Feb.

Depending on which side of the island you are diving at and yes, visibility isn't 10m. More of 2m on an average. Its easy to navigate around Hantu. Patience is much needed. There are definitely marine life in singapore waters.

Resident turtle will surface when there isn't strong currents and the surface of the water is still. Expect nudi branches, crabs and sea horse (Near the North Jetty). If you are really really lucky you would be able to see the nurse shark.

Like what carteki said, its only 1/2 a day (you get to clock 2 dives too!) and what's more.. you get your N2 fix.

Sorry, I don't care what you see, it is crap vis.

After Tioman, Aur, or even Sibu, Hantu is a waste of time unless you are working on boyancy or navigation skills.

I'd rather spend my time doing other things.

I've never done Hantu before but i'm dead keen on trying!

I've heard really bad comments about it but well, it's worth a shot. I just came back from Tioman LOB and the vis was BAD! It was like I've never seen before since it was my 4th LOB trip to the same site. Probably due to monsoon and rough choppy waters that threw up all the sedimentation.

I didn't make it, but the dive at Hantu on Wednesday was quite good - seahorses, nudibranches, frog fish and more! But that was close up - there is one pic where you can see how dark it is...

The vis. is better than I had been led to believe.

Frankly I think the viz is great. Of course, I spent the better part of two decades as a commercial diver so that might help explain it.

I was told to expect vis of 1-2m there. Not apparent from those pix. Rather regret not giving it a go now...
