Singapore Expats

Hello,

We are looking for a part time maid 3-4 times a week 3-4 hours each time. We need her for cleaning, ironing, cutting wedge tables and fruit and helping around the house.

We are just my husband and I at the moment, but we are expecting our first baby in December and therefore we need more help around the house.

In time we would also like her to help babysitting for us.

Does anybody know someone they can recommend? She needs to speak and understand English.

how much are you willing to pay? 'Legal' time part time helpers in Singapore would cost about $10-$12 per hour.

That's gonna cost you a minimum of $15/hour or more. The only problem is, they are going to have to be either citizens or PR's therefore if you hire them direct, you will have to pay their CPF contributions. If you hire through an agency, they will be more expensive as the agency has to pay their CPF as well as the employers CPF.

I found that your answer to the previous poster a bit imperious though. Are you sure that you spoke with the poster? Which company was that? The poster gave you two links.

Well, I know a Singapore PR, (Indonesian), who would be interested, she is currently back in Java to visit her parents, and she has been a helper for a Dutch lady in the Pasir Panjang area for 2 months already (mon / Wed / Fri - 8 hours / day - SGD 12.50 / hour) She is looking for work on Tuesdays, Fridays and weekends. She irons, cleans, helps with the food preparation, all you need is to show her how you would like it done, once, pleasant personality, speaks simple English. For 4 hours, she should charge SGD 15.00 / hour)(I am not an agent nor profiting from helping to arrange)

Sounds like one of your countrymen Faelle. Unfortunately, not too much schooling. Most can spell even if they have the typical W/V problem. My in-laws often do the same, pronunciation wise. But they spell it correctly.

Unless they are cabinet makers and need her for cutting blanks for table tops.
