Video Editing software for SONY handy cam

Hi can any one let me know where i can download a video editing software for my SONY handy cam because when we shoot it directly write as DVD file in the CAM
after that i want to edit with music and make as movie,but i tried some software ..no use.
Pls any one help me..

If you have a windows box, you can rip the DVD by using a DVD ripping software. I use ANY DVD Professional - not too expensive. And then, for quick edits I will use Windows Movie Maker (which is a free download from Microsoft) . For more elaborate edits I will move over to my wife's Mac and use Finalcut Pro. But for your day to day movies and sharing with grandpa, Windows Movie Maker is just fine.

You can rip your DVD's for free with DVDVideoSoft. Works good.
If you want to spend the time to download a 500+ meg .mpg, you can see how well it works.

DVD Video Soft has bunches of useful tools. One I find useful is to rotate videos.

I've been using Pinnacle Studio 14 and find it very flexible, useful, etc.
Highly recommend it.
