I am exploring moving back to the US and wanted to know if anyone has used a SG based shipping company to ship to the West Coast (San Fran/Seattle). This would not be paid for my company and I am trying to get a general feel for what I could expect to pay (and which companies to consider). Thx.

Relocating Singapore to US

I am moving back to the US this month - and choose Allied Pickfords. Got 3 quotes - all were very close to each other - Allied was slightly cheaper and are international in scope. Total cost is S$17k - plus S$1.5k for insurance. I have about 2/3 of a 40' container. This is Singapore to Houston - pack everything here and unpack everything in Houston - door to door. They are packing everything today (and tomorrow) and so far all looks good - they certainly do a better job of protecting things than I would. Once complete I will update my post and let you know how it all went.

Hi, I used Relocation and got a quote for $1000. It was the cheapest but as I said on another forum, their services were unacceptable.

We were promised 3 months' delivery, max. but many things went wrong.

First, they got the final quote wrong. (Luckily we calculated the no. of boxes & dimensions before letting them move those out of our house.) Then the let our boxes stay put in warehouses in Singapore and HK for months and when we contacted the manager in Singapore, nothing was done.

In the end, we received our boxes 6 MONTHS after packing. They may be cheap, but they're definitely unreliable.
