Singapore Expats

Hi All,

Starting from scratch here really. My company might move us to Singapore anytime soon and i like to slowly explore my options.

We haven't even discussed the housing allowance but i am guessing it would end up anywhere between 6-12k SGD.

- We are a small family with a baby boy and a helper currently living in a 4 bedroom / 3 bathroom place with rooftop
- My office would be downtown (1 Raffles Place)
- i am used to a door-to-door commute of max 45 mins though i would prefer less if taking the public bus/MTR and do not mind more if i can sit down and pretty much jump off at/near the office
- we are currently living in a car-free island in hong kong, which has a supermarket, a few restaurants and a park and beach 5 steps from our entrance door (park island for those who know). we love the natural environment
- we currently live high-rise with superb views across the ocean
- privacy is very important to us. i don't like any neighbour looking into our living room, bedrooms, etc.

obviously we would like something similar in sing with lots of accessible nature and privacy. is east coast a good place to look? or somewhere more central or best somewhere inland?

With your budget, you can rent a very nice condo along East Coast area with million dollar seaview!! eddie

sorry i am really new. any proposals with good connection into town?

You can live almost anywhere on the island and have good connections into town.

Think about living in Malaysia and commuting daily via the Tuas Second Link.
You can afford a really nice bungalow even with a swimming pool with that type of budget.

And you wouldn't just happen to have some of those really nice bungalows for sale or rent, would you jerry?

I seen that one too, pretty expensive.

affording anything in JB (johor baru - malaysia) is very possible but he will have to pay for the security and privacy !

nothing better than being in SG cookie!

there are good condos in lavender or maybe those fancy ones in Novena (tho the latter is maybe out of town to me)

There are a few condominiums just on the outskirts of the city at Lavander, Jalan Besar, . You can avoid the hussle of the city and enjoy the cheaper amenities.
