Hi

We are leaving Singapore on 19th , but we have to move out of the condo we are staying in on the 15th.

Please suggest a hotel near Raffles (say around 30 mins ), Clean safe and comfortable, preferably @SGD 100 per day. We have a 11 month old baby with us , so one of the criterion is a place that has a toilet that isn't very cramped.

Thanks in advance.

meaning they dont wash the toilet, fold the toilet paper into a v-shape, change the sheets, empty the ashtray, etc.

Gatgeway Hotel,

60 Joo Chiat Road #1-06 Singapore 427726

Basic but clean just about meets your 30 mins from Raffles critieria. S$85 for a double per nighnt, breakfast excluded I shouldn't think you will have a problem with the youngster.

carlsum I am not sure which one you went to but they always charge per night.

Except if you go in the morning and tell them you wanna stay for few hours till the afternoon then i think they'd charge you per hour.

Or if business is bad then can do it ... but personally i never encountered such thing

I've "stayed" in 3 or 4 Hotel 81's and they all offered an hourly rate - $20 plus deposit seeing as you ask. But before tongues wag too harshly I should point out that Ms BY shares her smallish HDB flat with 2 kids and an elderly mother. So when I have overseas visitors in my place they provide a handy refuge for some "peace and quiet".

I used to eat at one of the street stalls near Hotel 81 in Jalan Sultan, not an area that one would have thought to be a hot bed of vice but a steady flow was observed of middle aged men with a China Doll in tow so I reckon there's a fair amount of nefarious activity conducted in these places.
