Singapore Expats

I've recently got back into PC gaming after a pause of about 3 years (baby born 3 years ago - priorities changed

Anyway, was wondering whether anyone could suggest a good place to buy PC Games? Most of the stores I've seen so far have a very poor selection and I still haven't come across a place with a comprehensive range of games...

Wow, you really have been out of it a long time, eh? These days, we don't go into shops to buy games, we buy them online

Download the Steam client and use the online shop to cover most of the top games.

Alternatively go Funan Digital Mall. Explore all the shops...they will have it all covered.

Firstly, thanks for the response.

Secondly, it's not like I quit gaming while Wolfenstein 3D was popular

But seroiusly, are you telling me most people now DL their PC games? How long does it take to DL a 3GB+ game on these ridiculously slow Singapore internet connections?

I guess the games should be chepear if you DL them directly, what with no packaging/storage etc costs. For some reason though, I don't think thats the case...

Steam has been a godsend for gaming No more lost CD keys or DVDs. Sure you can't resell the game later but if you buy games on sale you'll be fine.

If you want a fun little game try out Magicka its $10 USD. (run the demo first to make sure you can run it. Some people haven't been able to.)

Beyond that World of Goo is a must play. If you can check out the Humble Indie Bundle its usually on sale then.

Though, it's over, there will surely be a next Humble Bundle

It's basically several indie games bundled together. The first one had six; the next, five. All games can be installed on Windows, Linux or Mac.

You pay what you want, you dictate how much of what you paid go to the developers or to charity.

Good fun--World of Goo and Aquaria are highly recommended.

Steam is indeed a god send

Haven't downloaded from them for a while but i remember getting 350kb/s when i downloaded black ops. Hardly light speed but good enough.
Joining online games in Japan and Korea im pinging in the 90 to 120 range so quite playable.

Me thinks it will depend on the time of day ( TV show torrents seem to fly at night)

There are shops in Funan & Sim Lim that stock new/current games. I am most likely to order a set of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim ..
