It's tough being a Chinese speaking Ang Moh. I think many Asians have a psychological block which just prevents them from entertaining the possibility that a pasty white guy could speak Mandarin.

So, is there anyone out there willing to converse with me in Mandarin and not just pretend that they didn't hear what I said? I used to speak really well and lived in China for years (went to university in Beijing) but have got rusty from living back in the UK over the last three years. I'm keen to get my ability back. In return you will have the pleasure of conversing with me also in my dulcet northern English tones on a subject of your choice as long at it isn't shoes.

If you have studied in Beijing, you should know a bunch of westerners who can speak fluent Chinese gained huge popularities with local audiences.Actually chinese people like Ang Mo speaking chinese it's more than fun to them.
