For $5000 per month you would pay a yearly tax of something under $2000.

CPF rates are 36 percent, 20 percent employee, 16 percent employer, capped at a maximum of $5000 income per month. So, under your example, you'd put $1000 into your account each month, leaving you with a take home of $4000.

There are no other taxes related to income.
