What's with all the sickening sounds?

Every time I'm in the bus or MRT it seems like all the Singaporeans are coughing, wheezing, sneezing, making sickening sounds with their mouths and their snot. And it's all ages and even the taxi drivers when riding in the taxi. There's only one season in this place (hot and humid) so I don't think it can be explained as being the weather. The way that these social misfits make no attempt to cover their diseased mouths makes it all the more foul.

Welcome to Asia. If you think it's bad now, you should have been here back in '82 when I got here back. Then they spit EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME! The still do if they think nobody is looking.

Well, I was in Barcelona in November and whilst waiting for my train in the subway a lady took her kid up against the wall, pulled down his pants, and had him pee right there on the spot. Then pulled his pants up as if nothing had happened and everything was completely normal.

I think that there is a virus going around, most companies that i have visited and treat in the past month, have a high number of sick people (flu - cough),

But the people should at least cover their mouth when they cough / sneeze,
maybe you should consider wearing a mask (N95 no less) for protection.
And earplugs for the noise pollution.

These are very bad habits... it makes my hair stands when people i go out with does that. Will always try to avoid going out again with them.

Oh and take note that not all the people who resemble Indians / Chinese / Malays are Singaporeans, (but i guess more than 3/4 are)

I've had the bloody virus for the last 3 months, pain in the throat, a stabbing pain in the ear, lots of phlegm, but the doctors here cannot cure it, so I give up.

Had it so long i thought i may have throat cancer, but that has been cleared with several cancer tests done on my liver, $1200 for those thinking about it for 3 batches of blood tests. With around 10 to 15 checks on each batch over a 6 week period.

I also had sever pain in kidney, but refused the scan for $900 when i discovered my urine pH was 8, as i had been avoiding meat, and stopped drinking vinegar. I was able to reduce the pain with cranberry vinegar within a week, they suspected accumulation of calcium. My pH adjusted from pH 8 to pH 7 with the first drink, within a week the pain had disappeared and I was pH 6 as I drank 500ml twice a day. Now it's back to pH 7 were it should be.

Poor ksl! Hope you're better now,
I had a lump at the nape of my head and it was quite painful; and rather scary as I felt groggy and giddy. Luckily, there was no nausea or or any amount of expectorates; so we assume it was a cold symptom.
Yo, you seem to be paying quite large sums for simple treatments like blood tests and diagnoses. You should fly back to the UK for free NHS teatment . The University Hospital's excellent.
BTW, if you should have any kidney stones, they're easily melted away by laser nowadays.

But regarding the OP, it's godawful to have all that wheezing, hawking and spitting. I saw some of that around the Great wall and Wu Tai Shan, where the cold wind also brought much grit from the desert.

The Chinese believe that malevolent substances should be spat out from the body as a prevention of festering or blocking of the flow of the qi. Hence.
I agree it's most unpleasant to be in the midst of noisy flu carriers all around, but to get back to the point about hawking and spitting - I gather it's a problem like chewing gum and littering. The only way to change the awful habit's to campaign against it as an unhygienic practice. Or for more effective results, fine them! SG needs another nanny to do the job.

Urinating on the sidewalk is just another part of life in France and Brazil. When we first moved to Paris we were pretty shocked. By the time we got to Rio it was just funny.
The coughing and hacking here is just a part of living in a tiny, condensed place. If one person gets sick it can’t help but spread all over Singapore.

Drinking cranberry vinegar cured the problem in less than a week! So i refused the CT scan @$900 can buy a lot of vinegar. My pH was 8 so I know exactly what was wrong, as i had changed my diet, no meat.

I check my pH every month normally with litmus paper, to acidic increases the multiplication of cancer cells, hence the reason for doctors putting people on strict veggie diets, avoiding meat.

Doesn't matter if they did, will probably not dry them, so when you grab the toilet door handle, you get their wetness.

Both are pretty gross, both happen all the time.

Go to the druggist and buy a box of litmus strips. That's the easiest way.
