Fun for 3yo

We're celebrating our sons 3rd birthday soon and have invited a bunch of his friends from nursery to attend.
As this is the first birthday party we are organising (First 2 birthdays were small family affairs), I'm not too sure how to entertain 2-3 year olds!
Has anyone got any suggestions on what to do? What works? What doesnt? Or is it just a case of running around them and letting them do whatever they want?

They should be able to provide entertainment for the kids.
