We get through a lot of batteries and would like to recycle.

Also, have loads of old cameras, laptops, computer mouse, stereos etc - would love to sell to places that might recondition for resale.



But have been searching on web and can't find anything.

Anyone can help?

This afternoon I did much the same. I sat a big box of that kind of stuff along with an old weekend set of clubs (all mismatched) and an old Dreamcast/DECT phone system, etc) down by the mailboxes in the elevator life lobby (HDB Flat) The whole lot was gone within 30 minutes! Works for me. The karung guni man regularly makes their rounds in the late afternoons.

I think the maintenance people just take them to the dumpster if nobody else takes the stuff for themselves.

I recently I asked a local the same thing and he just said "dump it in the trash lah". There does not seem to be any efficient recycling system in place in this country. Alternatively you could ask at electronic stores such as Courts or Harvey Norman whether they collect it for recycling.

Given how people's penchant for just dumping stuff, I seriously doubt it. Leftover food? Just throw it. Buy new furniture? Just dump it. How much for my used wardrobe? Five bucks? Because people barely want used stuff.

But seriously, if anyone asks these stores before I get to, will you please let us know?

I'm also guessing that you have better chances of getting rid of electronics in Sim Lim. Again, I'm just guessing but maybe some of those stalls I see would use them to salvage for parts. Again---just guessing.

Nah, believe me, as a member of the RC here, I often do walk abouts and see the karung guni guys everywhere (some are even on bicycles but they don't collect newspapers. I know our estate maintenance crews pretty well as they work for the town council and we use them at all our functions.
