recommend a cycle brand for me

just rented out a place at Lavender/Kallang and intend to do a bit of cycling prolly everyday at the kallang riverside park.
can you guys recommend a good cycle brand available here?
anyone cyclers in this area? lets catch up

Trek, if you are trying to make a statement.
Aleco if you are just a weekend rider would want a bike but doesn't want to spend a month or two's wages getting one.

Hey SMS, can you recommend a cycle shop? I am going to price a couple of bikes up this weekend. I hope we don't have to pay import tax, 4 times mark-up, and bid for a COE cert??!!

Can't really, as I'm still riding an original "Iron Horse" mountain bike I bought as my "last" bike on my 50th birthday! That was 13 years ago!
There is a new shop in the Ang Mo Kio 5 industrial estate at the corner of Ang Mo Kio Ave 5 & Yio Chu Kang Road that's about 1 klick away from my flat that I stepped into the other day. It's got a range from several hundred to 5 digits carbon fibre beauties. In fact, it got me wanting to buy something like a boulevard cruiser with the 8 speed internal rear hub (doing away with the derailleur system) Might be worth a walk into. Otherwise, I usually go to the little guy selling crap Taiwanese bikes or mostly do everything myself.

I'll take a look at AMK. I only want something cheap for my paper-round in the morning, and so I can stretch my legs in the evening!! Thanks!!

If you are after cheap then just try out Giant or Carrefour?

there is one in bukit timah...before this petrol station where they are building something...it looks like a pretty good shop...

Cheers. I'll take a look there too - maybe i'll get one with stabilisers as its been that long since I got on a bike!!
