I have a similar allergy, and we have 2 cats too which doesn't help much either!!

I use an inhaler each morning, prescribed by my Doctor - Beclomethane Dipropriate. One blast a day solves everything for me. It's a brown inhaler and quite common for pet and dust allergies.

Things are actually much better when im not home thats what made me figure out it was something thr.

Firstly, many people mistake servicing for disinfection, which is 2 totally different things. AC servicing would be more like cleaning / removing dust buildup / checking the gas.

Now, turn the AC off, and with a torch, have a look at the area where the cool air comes out of? Does it look like the below photo? If yes, then your AC is infected.

Can you get someone professional in to do a thorough clean - steam cleaning of all linen, mattresses, sofa's etc? Failing that I'm unsure what else you could do? Perhaps buy a tent and live outside!!

Steam cleaning - Hot water or steam 120 DEG C, would be able to kill most bacteria, but on the down side, is that you would be introducing moisture into whatever you would be steam cleaning (Example: your mattress / sofa). In humid and rainy Singapore (South East Asian country) it is always wise to keep your home / room as dry as possible.

Very mild asthma; luckily it doesn't interfere with my national yoga training..........I find a few marlboro lights each day helps a great deal!!

how long have you (the thread starter) been living in your current place?

animal dander/fur/etc can cause allergic reactions in people long after the pets have been moved out.

sometimes the only way out is to move.

I have this prb for two years, since I came to Singapore. Initially I thought I is flu..but every morning I wake up with my runny nose and I have tissue paper station every where..

I went thousand times to gps..some of them gave me antibiotics, some gave me nasal sprays, and now a days I m using surgical masks specially whenever I clean my room..only percent it worked.

I also increased vitamins specially vit C. My husband bought me a anti mites sheet to spread on matress..I am using anti mites pillow..

At night I lowered down the AC , switched off the standing fan which is filled with dust after every week..hell

I am taking essential oils

All these things giving a bit releif ...
