Singapore Expats

Hi everyone with a pet,
i went to explore a dog run i'd seen online in Pasir Ris. Its called 'Pet movers' http://www.petmovers.com.sg/
So i went to find a bit of a change from our usual Bishan park spot as the photos on the website make it look absolutely heavenly!
well....those photos must have been taken when it was first opened, because it was foul.
First of all the car park is really overgrown and unkept. the first thing i saw and heard was a lot of dogs barking, and many (god knows how many) puppies in cages in a glass walled room yelping. The initial smell of the place when i got out of the car was gross. Too many dogs, not enough cleaning is all i can say!
The dog run was green and enough grass there to look pleasant, but when you go in you realise that people who go there with BIG dogs dont pick up after them if you catch my drift. despite there being pooh bags hanging up in rolls on the fence.
There was music blasting out and i mean BLASTING. one of my dogs couldnt stand it and was trying to get out of the run pretty much as soon as we got there. There was cigarette butts in the run, and a general depressing feeling as you see the dogs in the boarding kennels in the run on the outter perimeter of the public run.
i left after 5 minutes, and went to the beach park.
oh, another thing, the 'wading pool' had no water in it. booo!

PLease let me know if i just caught this place on a bad day- i'd love to hear some other opinions. wouldnt want to write it off quite yet. and sorry if i'm ranting- it took me 30 minutes to get there and i'm feeling pretty bitter!!

This is one of the BETTER stories I've heard about PetMovers. If I had to guess, I'd say they're in it for the money (and will squeeze as much as they can from unsuspecting clients), because it certainly isn't because they seem to love animals or dealing with people.

oh my god - well i wont be going back. what else have you heard?

Do a search of this forum, you'll find other stories. In my experience with them I can't accuse them of any sort of cruelty, just horrible customer service, misinformation and misguiding with the import process and they edged pretty close to extortion when it came time for them to deliver my pets from the SAQS quarantine.

How recently was this? My dealings with them were Jan-April 2010.

the article was on the newspaper. but whether it was pet movers anot, i dont know. all the pets have been re-homed as of now.

I read the article only last week, pretty sure it was Pet Movers, the owner was prosecuted after he found someone to take over, they were so shocked of the condition of the dogs, they filed a report and he was held accountable. Around 16 dogs couldn't be saved due to neglect, out of the 75. So it's under new ownership today and many are volunteers if I'm not wrong. Though best to drive out and ask and make your complaint heard, it is illegal to neglect animals! If anyone thinks it is happening report it.

UGH. By the time I was finished with them (thank goodness I only hired them to handle paperwork and transportation between SIN-SAQS-my home) I had a pretty good idea of what type of people they were, and I wasn't impressed. I never saw their facility--so sad they were able to do what they did to those poor animals. Thank goodness they have been dealt with. I hope he's thoroughly shamed.
Here's hoping the new owners have what it takes to do a proper job.

Just be careful that they don't come after you for what you're posting here. I don't know the laws but let's just saw some have been burned by things they've posted.

Fair enough. But Pet Movers still suck for above mentioned reasons.
