Anyway...Snakes are not common but also not unusual. However, baby snakes probably mean a nest somewhere nearby, maybe even in your house. Calling pest control was a good idea.

What is the standard procedure if you were to see a bunch of snakes in the bushes next to a sidewalk (not that I ever have)? I assume you should call someone to inform them of this?

My old boss used to live in a black&white on Mt Faber and they periodically woke up to find cobras in their home.

Sadly the three cats they went through in a year (before giving up on pet ownership) did not.

How did they keep getting in? Open window at night, door left ajar during the day, etc.?

The day I run into a snake in my pad is the day I start looking for an apartment on like the 50th floor...

There was no air-con in that place, the doors and windows were semi-permanently open. And what with the jungle at the bottom of their garden... well, there you are.

p.s. 50th floor might not help. remember 'snakes on a plane'?

I stay in the ground floor - My patio is all tiled - no garden except for a few potted plants but we do see a lot of frogs esp a small bull frog that sits near my kitchen door every single night even if we relocate him over the compound wall each night religiously - He is back at the same place every single night . If we relocate him further away he may take two days to show up but then he eventually will and sit at the same place looking morosely into the kitchen .... But we think that the snakes might have gotten inside via the drain due to heavy rains which led to an influx of water ...the babies might have just gotten swept away . I am just hoping I don't find more of then esp bigger ones ! Anyway pest control is visiting the premises today - Apparently my neighbour found a few in her patio as well !

nakatago is right. there is a nest somewhere nearby. is your condo close to any park or secondary jungle? how does the snake look like?

Snakes usually do not foray into human dwellings except to hunt for prey, which is very common here for residences nearby secondary jungles, reservoirs and nature parks.

You mentioned that you often find frogs outside near your kitchen. It could be one of the factors that attract and lure snakes, as frogs (among other common animals like geckos and rats) are their favourite.

Still I'm fascinated about the little ones in your gully trap. Hmm...
