My opinion (and this is just my opinion) is that you are going to have to have some very specialised skills, that Singaporeans do not, to get a job in SG right now. Plus (and I'm being brutally honest) at age 45 you are going to have to be some kind of rocket scientist as such.
But! Never say never and good luck. Do a job search, apply for your EPEC, and then come back here. We will all follow your story with interest and try and chip in and advise as and when as best we can...

Yes, they do. Not all but most of the employer unless you are on the high tier income which comes with maturity. Age discrimination is rampant here seen but unseen in the wider public eyes

Dear Mad
Understand the case, age is affiliated to maturity ( experience ) which relates to higher income!
Employers there do not wish to pay high cost to mature-aged ones and that is the majority i suppose!
But anyway as you mention not all of them discriminate this issue.

At age 45 it really depends if your 13 years of experience are the same thing over and over again, or if you can demonstrate growth into new areas, increasing areas of responsibility, larger teams, larger projects, larger budgets.
If the latter, it won't be a problem to be 45... you'll be 'seasoned' with a demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility and control. If not, you're just some older guy who is much wiser to the ways of companies and you won't get hired in with the younger staff.
Because my company does large cross border projects, I rarely hire anyone under the age of 45. I need to see a track record that says the person can communicate with 'C' level management, direct diverse teams across the region, and deal with the intricacies of multi-million dollar projects. A youngster won't cut it.

you are right dear eagle
I have taken part in selling, marketing, contracting,Project management and have wide experiences and knowledges in those related business segments.
there were projects (civil/non-civil) national and international which i executed succesfully single-handedly and those added plus on my knowledges.
there is nothing impossible ,just need to designate your particulars entirely!
we live to understand abstracts how to reflect to concrete truths
For sure ,experience comes with maturity and there should be privilege skills such understanding business objects and converting to company purposes and benefits.

He is responding to your response to me. Based upon what you wrote, I would not consider giving you an interview. Here is why.
a) You are passive: "I have taken part in selling, marketing, contracting" instead of proactively telling me what/how much you sold/marketed/contracted.
b) You've not demonstrated any increasing responsibility.
c) I have no idea what your last two sentences mean.
