how do i go about importing products into singapore solely for export purposes ? export is GST free , so GST will be refunded when i re-export the products . i realized there are less guidelines on export items. therefore i want to lessen the hassle by declaring export purposes .

You can start here, Sorry that I'm not available by phone, really busy. It's actually not that simple, though you can pay others to do it for you.

I can tell you that an export course takes 16 weeks full time study and will cost you around 25-30K all in, It isn't anything you can just pick up in a day or 2, and if you don't get the basics you may end up at a loss. Candidates for the course are normally degree holders or have experience in working in the export import field. An assistant will cost you maybe 100 to $150 per hr in Europe for their knowledge but you can request that information here in Singapore, please let us know on the forum, as I'm sure others may have interest too.

Hello,

Look for company that possess Major Exporter Scheme Permit.

They can help you to import to Singapore without any GST.
Please take note that material MUST be re-export out from Singapore.

However, for import docs, your AWB or BL must show them as consignee.
For export docs, AWB or BL must show them as shipper.

With this, you can save your trouble in GST claim.

There are a few GST suspension schemes in Singapore:

MES (Major Exporter Scheme) as mentioned in above post is one option but your annual sales turnover must be more than S$10 million.

If you operate a business of a smaller scale you should outsource your warehouse operation (if you haven't) and look for a logistic service provider that is under a ZGS (Zero-GST Warehouse Scheme), you may read more about it here: http://www.business.gov.sg/EN/Governmen ... ms_zgs.htm

Alternatively, you can just store you cargo within the FTZ (Free Trade Zone) so you won't even have to file for it because clearance is not required within FTZ.
read more about it here:
http://www.business.gov.sg/EN/BusinessT ... mp_ftz.htm

I am not sure why you import goods solely for re-export, if you are in trading business you can actually direct-ship from origin to destination and do a switch BL so the end-buyer will not know who your supplier is. If you need to do Value Added Service (e.g. re-packing, re-labelling, etc) maybe you can engage logistic operator within the FTZ to do these for you.

actually, under MES 51% or more of zero-rates supplies needs to be exported. Up to 49% can be meant for local consumption.

and i do not encourage people to tap on others MES license mainly due to accounting and liability issues. (i am not sure if this is legally right too)
